Inspired by the logic behind this post from Jenny Vorwaller and this successful initiative by James Corbett, I’ve started a map of places where you can find healthy fresh farm produce.
The map will include farmers markets, artisan food retailers and individual farmers who sell directly to the consumer. Let me know, if I should add to that list.
The idea is that anybody can see at a glance, who is providing fresh food in their immediate vicinity and when they are open for business.
This is an open collaborative map, which means that anybody can add a location to the map. If you are unsure how to add a location, have a look at this video to see how. It’s really easy and will only take a minute or so. Click here, when you’re ready to add a location to it.
If there are any bloggers out there interested in this subject, it would be great if you could link to this post and spread the word. If this is popular, I’m going to try and creat a badge for it, so that people can put a permanent link to it on their sidebar.
Update:
There does seem to be an interest in this, so I have created a badge for it, which you can see on my sidebar. If you want to add this badge to your blog, you can use the following code snippet:

Inhabitat is one of my favourite design blogs. They focus very much on sustainable living and like many other blogs, they are making gift suggestions at the moment. I particularly like the post they have done on winter knitwear items. All of these are either organic or recycled products and they look really stylish as well. It might be a bit late for a christmas purchase, but the winter has plenty of legs in it yet…at least here in Ireland anyway.

This is a great chocolate making enterprise from Limerick and you get the sense that they enjoy what they do:
We pride ourselves in allowing our imaginations to wander when it comes to flavouring the chocolate, testing new ingredients and different combinations to create intriguing sensations and harmonies with the chocolate: lime zest and black pepper, tamarind with star anise and ginger, jalapeño with oak . At the same time we give traditional flavours a new lease of life with our approach to the quality of the ingredients. Our vanilla chocolate is infused with copious amounts of succulent Madagascan Vanilla pods. Our zests are freshly grated for each batch giving an incomparable purity and liveliness of flavour. When a chocolate has been made with such care we feel it deserves to be wrapped with the same individual attention. That is why we use vibrant packaging and hand wrap every chocolate.
